Snohomish

June 27, 2012

After checking out a nice country home doggy day care for Chance to stay while we are in Alaska, we stopped in Snohomish for dinner at a taco truck. A hot air balloon was out enjoying a sunset ride.

Seattle Sounders Game

June 20, 2012

GGLO organized group seating starting in the 6th row up from the corner kick location in CenturyLink Field with “Club Level” passes to the Seattle Sounders professional soccer game. We stopped for drinks at Fado on our walk over from the office to the game. It turned out to be a gorgeous night.
Club Level.

Great seats!
Seattle Sounders FC play in the same stadium as the Seattle Seahawks NFL team.
Today’s game brought to you by Xbox 360.
Christy may need to stand on her seat next time!
Celebration!
Good times.
Go Sounders!
In the end it was disappointingly only a tie against Kansas City. This place was rocking when we scored a goal though! I still have to convince Joe to buy tickets to when the Packers come to town for MNF in September. That would be so much  more fun than a UW game (but a lot heftier on the wallet)…

Fremont Fair

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Today after I gave a Seattle Architecture Foundation Greatest Hits Tour with fellow volunteer tour guides we went to the street festival that celebrates the start of summer in the quirky Seattle community of Fremont, as they refer to themselves, the “center of the universe.” It coincides with the summer solstice. It is best described as the Freedom to be Peculiar.
The highlight is the Fremont Solstice Parade, organized by the Fremont Arts Council. The Solstice Cyclists bike naked, with mostly only paint to cover themselves, unofficially start the parade. The pageantry and floats were more than I expected. Joe took some pictures of the official parade portion.

It was actually really warm today so after getting a bite of street food, we head back to the car to call it a day. We could only take so much of the always peculiar Fremont Fair.
